We love working with Jacob fiber. It’s a dream to spin and is know for its softness, springiness, durability and subtle sheen. However, the fiber from this multi-colored sheep processes into a gray-brown color. We wanted something different. We wanted to process the fleece in a way that highlighted the natural beauty of this animal. To make this happen, we spent many extra hours separating each fleece by color before processing the wool. Once the wool was washed, we worked to artistically combine the colors to create depth, interest, and impact. Finally, the roving was pin drafted so that it easily spins into luxuriant yarn. We hope you have as much fun spinning this roving as we do!
