About Us
At the heart of Strawberry Blue Farm, wool isn’t just a fiber—it’s a story. It is a story that began on our little Michigan farm in a pasture with just two sheep who peacefully grazed while growing the fleeces that went on to inspire everything I create.
While our business has grown since those first two sheep to include mill spun yarns in addition to our farm to fiber lines, the core of what we do has not changed. We are passionate about creating one-of-a-kind yarns for makers who cherish slow crafting, natural textures, and the artistry of handmade.
From the beginning, the fiber for our hand spun yarn has been sourced from our own flock or from other local small farms. When the wool leaves the pasture, it finds new life at my spinning wheel where the fibers twist together with the natural character and texture that only comes from slow intentional work.
Then, in the dye pot, colors bloom for both our hand spun and mill spun yarns. The colors and shades are often inspired by the changing seasons, turning leaves, morning fog, the blue of summer skies, and the earthy tones of Michigan harvest.
No two skeins are ever alike—even in the same dye batch, the slightest turn of the pan can create a new and beautiful swirl of color—making each skein its own unique story.
Whether you knit or crochet or craft, when you use slow yarn you are carrying forward a story. One that began in the pasture, and continues with you.
Our hand spun collection begins here—in the pastures and meadows of small local farms
